Data Scientist in Neurotechnology

Starlab, a cutting-edge private R&D company based in Barcelona (Spain), is seeking a dynamic candidate to join our team as a Neuroscience Data Scientist. As a key member of the company, you will have the opportunity to work at the forefront of applied neuroscience and play a crucial role in driving the success of our various business lines. You will collaborate closely with our sister company, Neuroelectrics, a world leader in wireless neurotechnology for monitoring and stimulation.

 

At Starlab, we are leading a digital health breakthrough, revolutionizing how we measure and modulate the electrical activity of the human brain. With significant implications for health, wellness, human-computer interaction, and society, we are looking for a talented individual like you to help us propel our different business areas forward.

 

Some domains we are working on:

​

  • Consciousness

  • Brain-to-brain communication

  • Decision Support Systems for neurodegenerative diseases and mental health

  • Affective computing with applications in business, culture, and User eXperience Assessment (UXA)

  • Personalized treatments

What we are looking for:

​

  • MSc in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science or related fields

  • Extensive knowledge of machine learning technology and methods (including deep learning approaches), ideally applied on neuroscience data

  • Experience in statistical data analysis, ideally in a clinical context

  • Expertise in Python, our most common programming language, and common Data Science toolkits

  • Ideally experience in signal processing, with a plus if applied on electrophysiological signals

With following soft skills and legal requirements:

​

  • Very hands-on approach and able to hit the ground running

  • A desire to see the results of your research have an impact in the real world (this means getting out of the lab)

  • Ability to handle projects with a “multi-scale” approach, able to maintain a high- level view while paying attention to detail

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)

  • Goal-oriented mindset with a focus on objectives

  • Assertiveness and the ability to multitask effectively

  • Team player, our work culture is very important to us

  • Curiosity, and a passion for the unknown

  • Flexible, things change and we need to adapt

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and drive

  • Ongoing EU work allowance
